The Community Futures Foundation Leadership Team

 Jason Young, MSW, CBIS Executive Director, has spent the past 7 years working with survivors of brain injury. Mr. Young initially started at The Mill House as an intern and over the past six years has held a variety of positions within the organization from program coordinator to his current position of Executive Director of Community Futures Foundation. Jason has overseen the expansion of The Mill House from a small part time program to its current status as the largest community based brain injury provider in the Metro Richmond area. In 2005, he began a second clubhouse program in Newport News, Virginia called The Denbigh House. In 2007, he oversaw the development of a community based case management program serving survivors in the Metro Richmond area.

Mr. Young is a frequent presenter at state and national conferences on the development of brain injury clubhouses for persons with brain injury. Jason has also been active in Virginia’s advocacy efforts to increase funding and services for persons with brain injury. From 2004-2008, he served as the Chair of the Virginia Alliance of Brain Injury Services Providers (VABISP), a statewide organization for service providers. Jason is currently the Secretary for the Virginia Brain Injury Council. Mr. Young received his undergraduate degree from the University of Richmond and his Masters in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. In 2008, he was named one of Richmond’s “Top 40 under 40” by Style Weekly magazine. In his free time, Jason enjoys backpacking, racquetball, and golfing. Jason is married to his wonderful wife, Rebecca, and they currently live in Richmond with their young daughter Mackenzie and dog, Sammie.
