The Denbigh House Staff Team

Alexandra Watson, B.S., CBIS., Program Coordinator, is a 2003 Bachelor of Arts in Psychology graduate of the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC and has been with The Denbigh House since its beginning in May of 2005. Prior to The Denbigh House, Alex worked as a counselor/case manager at a homeless shelter in Virginia Beach. At The Denbigh House, Alex developed the health and safety procedures for the program and played a significant role in preparing the program for CARF Accreditation. Alex also leads the Newsletter Committee, successfully overseeing the creation and development of our bi-monthly newsletter. Alex’s role as Unit Supervisor also includes the responsibility of managing referrals to the program and conducting intakes. She enjoys helping members develop independent living skills and working with members to accomplish their short and long term goals. She enjoys seeing members increase their independence, self-advocate and reach major milestones in the rehabilitation process.   

Sarah Harsche, BSW, CBIS, Unit Supervisor, is a new resident to the Norfolk, Virginia area. Previously she lived in Bethel, Connecticut with her family. She attended college at James Madison University in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Sarah graduated in December of 2006 with a Bachelor’s of Social Work. While in college, Sarah worked at Home Instead Senior Care as a companion and aide for the elderly. She has had other experience with the elderly at her social work internship where she worked alongside a case manager at Valley Program for Aging Services, an AAA agency. At The Denbigh House Sarah works in the Kitchen Maintenance Unit. This is Sarah’s first time working with survivors of traumatic brain injury and she is very excited to have found The Denbigh House!

Jiselle Decker, MSW, Communications Unit Coordinator joined The Denbigh House team in April 2010 as the Communications Unit Coordinator.

April Fincham, B.A., Kitchen Maintenance Unit Coordinator joined The Denbigh House team in March 2010 as the Kitchen Maintenance Unit Coordinator.
